Promoting Local Economic Growth and Prosperity
"For too long, our representatives have failed to bring tax and investment dollars back from Sacramento to our district. I will put an end to this unfair practice and make sure that our tax dollars come back for our schools, our businesses, our roads and our public safety. Our representative in Sacramento must focus on the specific economic needs of our local businesses, educational institutions, and homeowners in the cities of the 70th Assembly District. The revitalization of our local economy is essential for the restoration of our confidence in the future of California and Orange County." -- Melissa Fox
As a small business attorney for 18 years, Melissa has consistently fought for small business in the courts. She respects the hard work and knows the problems of business owners – problems that have been greatly intensified by the economic crisis.
For too long, our representatives have failed to bring tax and investment dollars back from Sacramento to our District. Instead, our relationship to Sacramento has been a one-way street: our tax dollars go to Sacramento, but nothing comes back. Melissa will put an end to this unfair practice and make sure that tax dollars come back to our District -- for our schools, our businesses, our public safety, and our local infrastructure.
As a member of the Assembly, Melissa will fight to reignite our Southern California economy and grow the local businesses and jobs that we need.
We must make it easier to start a new business or expand an existing one, and businesses should receive tax cuts when they make new hires.
Melissa is strongly committed to helping businesses create jobs through tax relief and tax incentives, cutting red tape, and by investments in freeways and transportation, job training, education, and renewable and efficient energy, in order to turn around and revitalize the economy of California and Orange County.
She'll make sure that we keep more of what we earn and save.– and make sure that our economy is stimulated by real tax relief for hardworking, overburdened families and the small businesses that are the real creators of jobs and prosperity in our community.
Melissa will fight to protect the value of home ownership, so that our communities are stable, safe and well-maintained.
Melissa’s focus will be on helping homeowners; supporting small business through tax relief, cutting red tape, and providing incentives that create jobs and bring economic development to our community; and promoting long-term economic engines such as the University of California, Irvine, that generate local jobs and bring prosperity to our District.
