I have been overwhelmed at the mountain of positive emails, text messages and phone calls that continue to pour in.

While I am extremely disappointed with the election results and the countywide backlash against Democrats, we did great things.

We moved the electorate more than 7 points above registration in a very bad climate for Democrats.

And what an awesome time we had doing it!

Over 18 months, we built a phenomenal grass roots campaign. We stood up for our schools, our environment, and our seniors. We stood up for women’s reproductive freedom and marriage equality. We created positive and productive relationships with other progressive groups and communities. And we created relationships with each other that will last a lifetime.

I am ready to continue our work together.

I NEED YOUR PHONE -- VIRTUAL PHONE BANKING NOW THROUGH ELECTION DAY!

I need your phone.

You don't need to live in the district or even in California.

With only days until the election on November 2, we need to contact as many voters as possible to remind them to vote and to encourage them to vote for me.

I’ve been making these calls for weeks, as has our team of volunteers.

But we can’t make all the calls we need to make without your help.

There is an easy way for you to help.

All you need to do is send an email to michael.goodstein@yahoo.com and say you want to help the Melissa Fox campaign.

You will then be sent a list and a brief script (which you should feel free to adapt).

It’s very easy.
 
And it's incredibly powerful.

Right now, you can be the person who helps a voter decide whether to cast their ballot for me. You can be the person who makes sure that a supporter is committed to vote. You can be the person who reminds them why their vote matters so much in this election.

The votes may be counted on Election Day -- but that's not when elections are won. They're won in the next 10 days, with conversations on doorsteps and on the phone. These are the conversations that determine who shows up at the polls -- and who stays at home.

CALIFORNIA'S GRASSROOTS ALL STAR IS . . .

Winning the DFA contest means a tremendous amount to our campaign.

It's not just a $1,000 contribution from DFA --  it's also the value of having our message go out to DFA members throughout California.

Your help now will help our All Star team continue this exciting campaign!

We now join Congressional candidate Beth Krom, who won the National DFA All Star contest, and the overlap between our districts means that we have double the benefit from volunteers and donors across California and the nation.

Over 900,000 voters in Orange County are now registered as Democrats, independents, or with minor parties, and they are demanding real representation in Washington and Sacramento!

In fact, the response from the OC grassroots was so strong that DFA awarded two prizes, including one to our friend Esiquio Uballe. And our friend Phu Nguyen finished fourth, just a little behind Debra Bowen, our Secretary of State.
